Transfer Students

Are you, or someone you know, thinking of transferring to one of the locations within The Art Institutes system of schools?

If so, please follow one of these three easy steps to begin your transfer process:

1. Current Students at The Art Institutes: If you plan on transferring to another location within The Art Institutes system without taking any time off other than the normal break between quarters, then please contact the READMISSIONS office at The Art Institutes location in which you have an interest in transferring. They will be able to advise you what documents they will need from you and your current location of The Art Institutes in order to review your file and discuss with you the transfer process. Also, the Readmissions office will be able to discuss with you other pertinent information such as your program of interest, housing, transfer of credit, financial aid, career services, and visiting the school!

2. Former Students at The Art Institutes: If you have been out of school for more than the normal breaks between quarters or did not complete the current term, please contact the ADMISSIONS office of The Art Institutes location in which you are interested in transferring. They will be able to discuss with you other pertinent information such as your program of interest, housing, transfer of credit, financial aid, career services and visiting the campus!

Programs offered by one school within The Art Institutes system may be similar to, but not identical to, programs offered at another school within the system. This is due to differences imposed by state law, use of different instructional models, and local employer needs. Therefore, if you decide to transfer to another school within The Art Institutes system, not all of the credits you earn at The Art Institutes location you previously attended, or are currently attending, may transfer to The Art Institutes location you are considering for transfer.

In the U.S. higher education system, transferability of credit is determined by the receiving institution taking into account such factors as course content, grades, accreditation, and licensing.

3. Transfer from another college or university: If you are interested in transferring to any of The Art Institutes locations from another college or university, please contact the admissions office of The Art Institutes location that you are interested in and they can assist you in answering your questions about transfer requirements, credit transfers, housing, financial aid, etc. It is the responsibility of the student to direct official academic transcripts from former colleges or university to The Art Institutes location you desire to transfer to in order for an evaluation to establish what credits, if any, will transfer into The Art Institutes location of your interest.
